Project Ge-HEI
Gender Equality in Higher Educations Institutions
What is this project about?
This is a Project funded by the Conciliation and Gender Equality Programme of the EEA Grants 2014-2021, in which the CIG - Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality is the Programme Operator, and in which the promoting entity is DGES - Directorate General for Higher Education, in partnership with the CIEG - ISCSP-ULisboa, RIKK - Institute for Gender, Equality and Difference at the University of Iceland and A3ES - Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education.
One of the main objectives of the Project Ge-HEI - Gender Equality in Higher Educations Institutions, is to identify and combat the factors that contribute to explain inequalities between women and men in Higher Education, as well as the elaboration of a set of recommendations for the development of Gender Equality criteria in Higher Education Institutions.
What will it achieve?
Perform a secondary analysis of data on Gender Equality at higher education level, namely through database analysis of the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES), and comparative analysis of national and international statistics on women's participation in higher education.
Develop recommendations to establish gender equality criteria for the assessment and accreditation of Higher Education Institutions and Study programmes both by A3ES nationally and, by institutions seeking to improve their internal quality policies.
To conduct case studies to understand how gender equality issues are associated with organisational and cultural practices and beliefs, and how they are perceived in order to promote change through knowledge and reflexivity.
To define general guidelines and recommendations for the integration of gender equality issues in the curricula.
